ICANN 2025 Nominating Committee Publishes Year in Review Report

8 September 2025

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) 2025 Nominating Committee (NomCom) has published its Year in Review Report, which reviews its progress since convening at the conclusion of the ICANN81 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The report opens with a message from the 2025 NomCom chair, followed by an overview of the leadership positions the committee was tasked with filling. It outlines the criteria provided to the NomCom for identifying potential candidates and describes the committee's outreach efforts and preselection process. The report then presents the final selections, followed by a review of key milestones, meetings, and training sessions conducted throughout the selection process.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
